Bodies. Skins. Costumes. Techniques (or volcanos). Paula does not hesitate in putting us in front of the grotesque to feel the poetry: body-poetry. The one that passes, transpasses us. The memories here become timeless. I remember the time in its fragile linear movement, the whole time. What skin do we wear? Of which memories do we appropriate? Would you risk it? Would you let self-mold?

Brasília, 1983.

Having graduated in Garment Production Technology, Paula Blower complemented her training in London at The Slade School of Fine Arts (the Expanded Field of Drawing), Central Saint Martins (sculpture molding) and in Rio de Janeiro at the School of Visual Arts of Parque Lage (2014-2017). Her work addresses the ephemeral character of creation by investigating the very deterioration of the pieces. These experiments with ambivalence between object and matter explore impermanence using unconventional languages, techniques, and materials.
